">The seventh annual DOE Fellows Poster Exhibition and Competition took place on October 16, 2013. The purpose of this event was to showcase the DOE Fellows’ research accomplishments for the past year as a result of their participation in various U.S. Department of Energy – Environmental Management (DOE-EM) related applied research projects. A total of 12 posters were exhibited. Some of the projects showcased by the students were a result of their summer internship assignments at DOE Savannah River Site, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, DOE Hanford Site, and DOE Headquarters (DOE-HQ) in Washington, DC. Also, some of the posters reflected the DOE Fellows’ DOE-EM applied research that they conduct at the Applied Research Center (ARC) as part of the DOE-FIU Cooperative Agreement sponsored research.
For some of the graduate students, these projects are also a part of their thesis towards a master’s degree. This year’s panel of judges comprised of Dr. Ines Triay (ARC Executive Director), Dr. Norman Munroe (Professor and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies & Academic Affairs – FIU College of Engineering), and Dr. David Roelant (ARC’s Associate Director of Research). This year, the poster exhibition and competition was conducted at FIU’s Engineering Center’s Panther Pit and was attended by FIU faculty, ARC personnel, and FIU students.
