Ms. Lawrence has served as a GIS subject matter specialist functioning as lead analyst, coordinator and student mentor for twelve years.

Ms. Angelique Lawrence is a certified Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professional with over twenty years of experience as a subject matter specialist, environmental scientist and STEM student mentor. Her experience includes the application of GIS technology for mapping, geoprocessing, geospatial analysis and visualization of spatial and temporal data, geodatabase development, hydrological modeling, environmental assessment, geospatial data and metadata development, Internet and mobile application development, GIS instruction and vocational training. She has applied her expertise to projects for clients such as the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense, Miami-Dade Empowerment Trust and the Florida Solar Energy Center at University of Central Florida. Ms. Lawrence also has several years of experience in project management and proposal development. She has served as the Program Manager of an Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA) energy efficiency project sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Western Hemisphere Affairs. Her current research utilizes GIS to support water resources applications, particularly the development of hydrological models to simulate flow and contaminant transport at U.S. Department of Energy sites.

Ms. Lawrence received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997 in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad. She then went on to graduate with a Master’s in Environmental Science at Florida International University, Miami, FL in 2001. Since then Ms. Lawrence has completed both graduate level as well as national certifications in GIS. Ms. Lawrence has also received a graduate level certificate in Environmental and Occupational Health from Florida International University.
