Angelique Lawrence, Environmental Scientist/GIS Analyst

Ms. Angelique Lawrence is a professionally certified Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst with over twelve years of experience supporting the Applied Research Center at Florida International University in center-wide project initiatives. Ms. Lawrence has served as a GIS subject matter specialist functioning as lead analyst, coordinator and student mentor for twelve years. She has experience in proposal development and is an experienced Project Manager performing tasks such as project planning, scheduling, reporting and resource and budget allocation for clients such as the U.S. Department of Energy, Miami-Dade Empowerment Trust and the Florida Solar Energy Center at University of Central Florida. Ms. Lawrence has managed and supervised a team of IT administrators and programmers, GIS analysts and multiple student assistants and has attained asset management experience through the monitoring and maintenance of ARC’s enterprise GIS infrastructure, software licensing, data and metadata. She has designed, developed and implemented multiple GIS vocational training programs for enterprise and small community groups and conducted multiple technical and non-technical presentations to clients and potential clients delivering the concept, user benefits, application development and implementation details of GIS solutions. Currently, Ms. Lawrence’s focus is on providing GIS support to the hydrological modeling efforts of the Environmental Remediation group for projects sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management. Ms. Lawrence is also the Program Manager of an Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA) energy efficiency project sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Western Hemisphere Affairs.

Ms. Lawrence received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997 in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad. She then went on to graduate with a Master’s in Environmental Science at Florida International University, Miami, FL in 2001. Since then Ms. Lawrence has completed both graduate level as well as national certifications in GIS. Ms. Lawrence has also received a graduate level certificate in Environmental and Occupational Health from Florida International University.
