Ms. Peggy Shoffner is a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) with extensive training and experience in technology evaluation, facility decontamination and decommissioning, knowledge management, waste management and waste characterization, site characterization, environmental remediation, environmental compliance, and transportation compliance. She also has experience interacting with and guiding/mentoring university students on applied research projects in Department of Energy technical areas of need. Ms. Shoffner started her career in the private sector, working for Bechtel National Inc. on projects such as the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) under the direction of the U.S. Department of Energy as well as site remediation projects under the direction of the Air Force Center for Engineering and Environment (AFCEE). She is currently with the Applied Research Center at Florida International University, working primarily on projects supporting the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Environmental Management in areas of waste management, knowledge management, and technology innovation, development, evaluation, and deployment.
