Comparative analysis of ZVI materials for reductive separation of 99Tc(VII) from aqueous waste streams

ARC-PNNL Team working on the project “Management of Hanford Low Activity Waste Off-Gas Condensate” just published a manuscript in the Journal of Hazardous Materials  (IF 7.65) entitled “Comparative analysis of ZVI materials for reductive separation of 99Tc(VII) from aqueous waste streams” authored by Daria Boglaienko, Hilary Emerson, Yelena Katsenovich and Tatiana Levitskaia. This research was funded by the Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Program (MSIPP) and was looking on interactions of Tc-99 with different ZVI materials. The study demonstrated effective reductive separation of Tc-99 from aqueous NaCl solution at near neutral pH with ZVI materials manufactured by the electrolytic method.
