Dr. Awwad recognized at the FIU Inventors Reception for new concrete technology patent

ARC is pleased to announce that Dr. Amer Awwad, Sr. Research Scientist, in collaboration with Dr. Atorod Azizinamini, Professor from FIU’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, and Director of Infrastructure Research and Innovation, have developed an innovative technology to quickly assess the durability of hardened concrete. The technology can quickly test concrete strength without the need to take a core sample of the concrete. A patent has been granted for this technology and has the potential to become the industry standard for testing concrete that can predict and prevent bridge and building collapses such as the Surfside building disaster. Dr. Awwad was recognized for his accomplishment at FIU Inventors Reception.
